The Closed Suction System is intended for removal of secretion in the lower respiratory track in patients receiving prolonged mechanical ventilation. It is connected to the artificial airway (Endotracheal or Tracheostomy tube) and ventilation circuit, usable over 24 to 72 hours.

Unlike traditional suction, there is no need to cut off the patient's oxygen airway. Suction can be performed while maintaining respiratory support.
