Disposable Wound Dressing for Baby Use

The umbilicus of newborns is a critical area where bacteria can easily enter the body. Without proper protection, bacteria may reproduce quickly, leading to suppuration or serious conditions. Since newborn skin is delicate, common gauze fixed by adhesive plaster can cause sensitivity or irritation due to roughness. Additionally, standard gauze may slip off during the natural movements of a baby's belly.

Product Instrument:

This newly developed dressing is constructed from CA fiber and a cotton elastic bandage. CA fiber is soft, non-toxic, bacteriostatic, and highly absorbent, effectively decreasing bleeding and effusion. The cotton elastic bandage provides suitable elasticity to keep the dressing securely in place without irritation.

After birth, the emulsion ring in the dressing package is extended and slipped over the umbilicus, fixed at a distance of 1-2 cm. Following sterilization of the local area, the CAD anti-adhesion dressing is applied. The umbilicus should remain clean and dry until it falls off. Generally, the dressing is observed and treated 24 hours after birth, with the root cleaned and re-dressed using the CAD dressing.
