How to Use an Elastic Bandage

Elastic bandages come in many sizes. Follow these steps to wrap an ankle, knee, wrist, or elbow:

• Hold the bandage roll facing up.
• Start at the top of the foot beneath the toes, leaving toes exposed.
• Wrap in a circle twice around the foot, moving from outside to inside.
• Move to the heel and continue in a spiral pattern, overlapping by ½ width.
• Pass the bandage around the calf in upward circles, stopping below the knee.
• Fasten the end securely. Avoid metal clips in skin folds like behind the knee.
